MRI Technologist Apprentice Responsibilities

Effectively and efficiently performs age-appropriate MRI examinations while under the guidance of a registered staff MRI technologist and in accordance with Hospital and Departmental policies and procedures. Apprentice may function independently as an MRI Technologist once all competencies are completed and apprentice is registry eligible. Requirements

Graduate of an AMA or CMA accredited program in an imaging modality. Must be a current registered technologist in good standing with ARRT, NMTCB, or ARDMS. Certified in basic cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR). Skills for Success

Adheres to hospital standards to promote a cooperative work environment; follows hospital and departmental policies and procedures. Maintains up-to-date knowledge of changes in policies and procedures. Performs or assists in performing quality MRI examinations under the guidance of an ARRT registered MRI Technologist, ensuring workflow efficiency. Schedules procedures and maintains appropriate records. Coordinates with other departments as needed. Assists with room preparation and restocking of supplies. Participates in educational activities to enhance patient care and quality of services. Maintains appropriate education/credentials and remains in good standing with the apprenticeship sponsoring organization. Ensures age/developmentally appropriate care as per Age-Specific Care Guidelines. Work Environment
