Examines requests and verifies orders with radiologist input; contact ordering provider if discrepancies exist. Identify patients using two identifiers and prepare them for procedures with explanations; document on appropriate worksheets. Obtain complete medical history from interviews and review EMRs; correlate test results with the exam being performed. Own the exam from start to finish, including dictated results. Prepare and administer IV contrast per department protocols; record contrast type and amount as requested. Evaluate image quality and consult Radiologist as needed; recognize abnormal anatomy and perform requested reconstructions or measurements. Provide basic patient care; inform nursing of condition changes; initiate life support when necessary and assist in code blue procedures. Perform MRI scanning and assist in invasive procedures; maintain sterile technique and follow infection control policies. Obtain medications or contrast material as directed for administration by a licensed practitioner. Practice radiation safety for self, staff, patients, and visitors. Report equipment malfunctions and maintain safety in exposure-prone environments. Maintain knowledge of MRI safety requirements for staff and patients around magnetic fields. Operate radiology computer systems, enter orders, charge procedures/supplies, and document contrast administration in the MAR. Maintain a neat, stocked, and clean work area; assist other medical personnel as needed during exams. Assist anesthesia when performing exams or services in conjunction with MRI scans. Adhere to fire and safety procedures and complete required safety modules. Follow infection control, bloodborne pathogen, and isolation policies; ensure proper sterile technique where applicable. Qualifications

Graduate of an institution accredited by ARRT-recognized bodies in Radiologic or Nuclear Medicine Technology; active enrollment in MRI ARRT registry eligible or ARMRIT program required; MRI registry must be obtained within 1 year of hire.
