Overview An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced
Obsolescence Engineer
to support a growing defence and aerospace engineering portfolio. This contract role is ideal for a highly organised engineer with a strong background in
obsolescence management , particularly within
military or air engineering environments . You will play a key role in ensuring long-term product supportability by identifying, managing and mitigating obsolescence risks across complex engineering programmes.
Key Responsibilities
Support the Obsolescence Capability Lead in delivering effective
Obsolescence Management services
across multiple programmes
Develop, review and update obsolescence processes and plans to meet evolving programme requirements
Identify obsolescence risks early and contribute to mitigation and resolution strategies
Prepare technical material for briefings, reviews, meetings and working groups
Attend internal, supplier and customer meetings as required
Liaise with Engineering, Supply Chain and Training teams to ensure alignment across support activities
Coordinate Support Engineering deliverables (CDRLs), ensuring high quality and on-time delivery
Engage with customers on specific obsolescence topics and requirements
Analyse engineering and support data to inform decision-making and optimisation opportunities
Proven experience in
Obsolescence Management
Strong understanding of
Support Engineering
within a
defence or military environment
Background in
air engineering or aerospace
highly desirable
Highly organised with excellent stakeholder management skills
Ability to analyse engineering and logistics data
Eligible to obtain
UK SC Security Clearance
Desirable Skills & Qualifications
Experience working to
Def Stan 00-600
and
ASD/AIA S-Series ILS specifications
Experience driving
First Time Quality
across engineering deliverables
Ability to work with international stakeholders and OEM environments
Degree-qualified in an Engineering discipline (or equivalent experience)
