Biochemist II
for a prominent client of ours. This position is located in
Rahway, NJ . Details for the position are as follows:
Pay: $30-40.30/hr.
12-month assignment with possibility for extension or conversion based on performance and budget.
Responsibilities
Execute high-throughput biochemistry workflows (96/384-well formats) using automated liquid handling and UPLC/HPLC to support protein directed evolution.
Perform E. coli cell lysis or ivTT enzyme generation, set up and quench enzymatic reactions, analyze substrate/product profiles, and interpret data.
Collaborate cross-functionally to manage multiple projects, meet timelines, and maintain safe, compliant laboratory practices.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Molecular Biology, Synthetic Biology, Bioengineering, Biochemistry or related field with +5 years’ of experience, or MS with +2 years of experience, or PhD.
Experience in high-throughput screening, automated liquid handling (Biomek/Tecan), and analytical techniques including HPLC/UPLC, LC-MS, SDS-PAGE, and UV-Vis.
Strong background in protein handling, biochemical/biophysical assays, experimental design, data analysis, and documentation; proficient in MS Word/Excel.
Preferred: industry lab experience, protein expression/purification, directed evolution or NGS, and data analysis using Python, R, or Excel.
