MSG’s continued growth has opened a new position for a
Civil Design Group Manager
to lead projects in Columbus, OH.
Key Responsibilities
Lead multiple design teams in daily operations
Develop staffing needs and distribute work to teams to balance workload
Collaborate with team leaders/ project managers to monitor project health (scope, schedule, budget, etc.)
Monitor group workload, utilization, and billable hours
Work with Civil Service Line leaders to identify additional staffing needs (training, personnel)
Mentor staff while executing office and company growth plans
Prepare proposals and contracts and manage projects
Successfully manage and deliver work tasks on time
Coordinate with MSG staff across professional services (surveying, environmental, geotechnical, structural, traffic, transportation, landscape architecture, funding strategies/grant writing, construction administration, etc.)
Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
Proven record of managing multiple civil design engineers, teams, projects, and disciplines
Strong management process and style
Willingness to mentor and teach younger staff
Private development experience
