Overview
The Cloud Engineer will play a critical role in the successful modernization and implementation of a variety of cloud deployments for our US Army Client. This position requires a seasoned professional with deep technical expertise in cloud computing, specifically in designing scalable, secure, and resilient cloud solutions aligned with Army Standards. The Cloud Engineer will lead cloud architecture efforts, ensuring workloads are optimized for performance and future scalability within Army’s environments. The successful candidate will have a deep technical expertise in cloud deployments paired with deep subject matter expertise in how the US Army operates, builds and deploys software.

Responsibilities
Design, develop, and implement scalable, secure, and resilient cloud solutions aligned with Army Standards, ensuring workloads are optimized for performance and future scalability within the ECMA environment
Collaborate with Army stakeholders to ensure the successful integration of cloud solutions into the Army's existing IT infrastructure
Develop and maintain technical documentation, including system architecture diagrams, technical specifications, and user manuals
Provide technical guidance and support to Army personnel and contractors working on cloud solutions
Stay abreast of emerging cloud technologies and Army Standards, and recommend changes to the cloud environment as needed
Ensure compliance with Army cybersecurity standards and best practices
Support the team lead to ensure the implementation of best‑of‑breed technologies while mitigating risks
Provide input and guidance to optimize cost‑efficiency and prevent cost overruns
Provide regular status reports to senior Army leaders and LMI management
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field. A Master's degree is highly desirable
At least 10 years of experience in cloud computing, including experience with cloud architecture, cloud security, and data architectures
Expertise in Army Standards and requirements for cloud computing
Experience working with Army stakeholders and contractors
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders
Experience with Army cybersecurity standards and best practices
Experience with various cloud service providers
Experience building in modern software stacks using containerization, IaC, monitoring and management tools, load balancing and auto‑scaling and disaster recovery
Active Secret clearance desired or the ability to obtain a clearance. Please note: only US citizens are eligible to obtain a clearance.
No specific certifications are required; however, various certifications may be relevant though the list is not inclusive

Target salary range: $143,000 - $190,000. Final compensation will be determined by a variety of factors including but not limited to your skills, experience, education, and/or certifications.
