Overview Reporting to our North American accounting team’s Controller, the Senior Accountant will have the opportunity to practice and develop a broad spectrum of skills, including analyzing trends that guide business decisions and assisting with the monthly, quarterly, and annual corporate accounting close process (e.g., fixed assets, roll forwards, reconciliations, journal entries, risk management, treasury, intercompany, assisting in payroll, corporate budgeting, and reporting on budget vs. actuals). The Senior Accountant will also assist in researching technical accounting issues related to business combinations (purchase accounting), foreign currency, international accounting consolidations, and revenue recognition.

Expected Results

Obtain and maintain a thorough understanding of the financial reporting and general ledger structure in accordance with US GAAP

Manage a variety of close tasks, helping ensure an accurate and timely monthly, quarterly, and yearend close

Assist the treasury function with cash applications, payments, and banking operations

Assist payroll process and related journal entries including month-end payroll accruals

Assist in analyzing current costs, revenues, financial commitments, and providing analysis around variances from budget/forecast

Research technical accounting issues that arise and draft related accounting memos

Work cross functionally to improve accounting processes that affect the entire firm

Maintain the fixed asset ledger (additions, disposals, transfers, etc.), including depreciation and tax reporting, ensuring accuracy of data according to US GAAP

Manage and maintain prepaids, including the monthly close schedules

Prepare account reconciliations across the balance sheet (cash, receivables, payroll, fixed assets, etc.)

Demonstrate the ability to identify opportunities for process improvement, including automation, and help design scalable, system-based solutions that replace spreadsheet-driven workflows

Required Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in accounting

4+ years’ professional experience as an accountant, preferably performing the month-end close process

Advanced Microsoft Excel skills

Ability to prioritize multiple demands in a fast-paced and dynamic environment, working both independently and within a team

Exceptional attention to detail and strong organizational skills, ensuring accuracy and efficiency in all tasks

Excellent oral and written communication skills with the ability to interact professionally and effectively with clients on a regular basis

Provide assistance with ad hoc financial tasks and special projects as required

Knowledge of US GAAP and familiarity with compliance and internal controls

Preferred Qualifications

Certified Public Accountant license strongly preferred

Proficiency with large ERP system (NetSuite a plus)
