About the Role Kitsap Credit Union is in search of a Core Program Analyst I. This position serves as a subject matter expert on the Symitar core banking platform to include analyzing the day‑to‑day operations, maintenance, and providing technical support. It will include programming various jobs on the core banking platform.

PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES
Create, modify, update system jobs, schedules, reports, and procedures to comply with all operational solutions.
Monitor core databases for data quality, efficiency, reliability, and performance. Recommend potential enhancements in process or performance.
Research and implement new solutions from the core provider that are requested by management.
Test and install all software releases and install all hardware/firmware updates required.
Support projects to enhance, upgrade of core banking environment and third‑party applications. Demonstrate service excellence in delivering successful solutions, including helping define requirements, application deployment, implementing best practices, supporting testing efforts, and providing documentation while working with business units.
Track and monitor effectiveness of projects and solutions provided, adjusting as needed.
Participate in disaster recovery planning and testing. Execute the disaster recovery plan as directed by management.
Provide second level technical support for Core related tickets. Trend core system tickets to find resolutions to deeper issues.
Provide 24X7 on‑call system support for Information Technology and cover shifts as required on a rotation basis.
Liaise with vendors as needed for on‑going system support, upgrades, and troubleshooting.
Maintain a high level of confidentiality about core systems and data
REQUIRED SKILLS AND ABILITIES
Effectively communicate application problems and issues to key stakeholders including management, development teams, and end users.
Maintain knowledge and understanding of all relevant industry standards.
Must be proficient in the MS Office 365 Suite of software.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to articulate to stakeholders how changes in processes, services and products would prove beneficial to the company’s bottom line.
Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
Must have initiative, be resourceful, able to work independently without a lot of guidance.
Strong drive to provide excellent customer service and experience, with an awareness of prioritization of tasks, stakeholders, budget, and time.
Demonstrates a high level of engagement and active collaboration contributing to a positive team environment.
Understand, model, and represent KCU’s core values
REQUIRED Qualifications and Education Associates or technical two‑year degree in a related field, or three years of experience with core banking platforms. ITIL v4 certification required or obtained within six months.
Preferred Qualifications and Education Bachelors’ degree in computer science or related field, or equivalent experience. One year experience HTML, SQL, and/or Powershell script preferred. Two years’ experience of UNIX and AIX preferred. Two years’ experience as a system programmer analyst preferred. Two years’ experience with mainframe backup and scheduling software preferred. Prior experience with Symitar Episys strongly preferred.
SUPERVISORY STATUS This position does not supervise others.
Working conditions
This position will be required to work in an office environment with moderate noise levels, and, with or without reasonable accommodation is required:
Must be able to remain in a stationary position for a minimum of 75% of the time
Constantly operates a computer and other office productivity machines
The person in this position frequently communicates with peers, supervisors, vendors, and employees to exchange accurate information and answer questions
Works in an indoor office environment but expected to attend meetings in buildings that require travel in outdoor weather conditions
