Some of what you will do:/pulliPractice positive patient identification at all times, in all job functions./liliPractice HumanKindness and courtesy with all patient and co-worker interactions and maintain good communication within the department and throughout the hospital./liliFollow proper isolation and hand sanitization procedures./liliFollow blood collection procedures, perform venous and capillary punctures on all age groups, utilizes appropriate collection techniques to obtain samples adhering to quality and quantity requirements./liliPerform Blood Bank collections, following written collection and Blood Bank banding procedures, demonstrating accuracy and good penmanship, and adhering to specimen requirements./liliMaintain order and cleanliness of phlebotomy trays, stations, and storage rooms./liliMaintain laboratory turnaround time, prioritizing work activities and organizing draw requests to assure efficiency and turnaround time requirements are met./liliAssist with phlebotomy training under the direction of the supervisor and/or coordinator./liliSpecimen processing/intake and distribution to testing areas of the laboratory./liliUse good judgment when problem solving and request help when needed./liliTake responsibility for the department workflow and assist all members of the team to maintain department workflow and efficiency creating an atmosphere that fosters teamwork and collaboration./li/ulpJob Requirements/ppNo experience is necessary; we will train you in appropriate phlebotomy methods!/ppWhat you need:/pulliHigh School diploma or GED/liliBLS through American Heart association within 90 days of hire/liliExcellent customer service and time management skills/liliPhlebotomy certificate and/or 3 months phlebotomy experience is preferred/li/ulpWhere Youll Work/ppEstablished by the Sisters of the St. Francis in 1924, CHI Health Good Samaritan is a 268-bed regional referral center in Kearney, Neb.
