Our phlebotomists work with patients to perform blood collection and specimen processing, as well as assisting with clerical duties and maintaining lab collection turnaround time. Some of what you will do:/pulliPractice positive patient identification at all times, in all job functions./liliPractice HumanKindness and courtesy with all patient and co-worker interactions and maintain good communication within the department and throughout the hospital./liliFollow proper isolation and hand sanitization procedures./liliFollow blood collection procedures, perform venous and capillary punctures on all age groups, utilizes appropriate collection techniques to obtain samples adhering to quality and quantity requirements./liliPerform Blood Bank collections, following written collection and Blood Bank banding procedures, demonstrating accuracy and good penmanship, and adhering to specimen requirements./liliMaintain order and cleanliness of phlebotomy trays, stations, and storage rooms./liliMaintain laboratory turnaround time, prioritizing work activities and organizing draw requests to assure efficiency and turnaround time requirements are met./liliAssist with phlebotomy training under the direction of the supervisor and/or coordinator./liliSpecimen processing/intake and distribution to testing areas of the laboratory./liliUse good judgment when problem solving and request help when needed./liliTake responsibility for the department workflow and assist all members of the team to maintain department workflow and efficiency creating an atmosphere that fosters teamwork and collaboration./li/ulpQualifications: No experience is necessary; we will train you in appropriate phlebotomy methods!
