User Experience (UX) Researcher

(HATCI) is looking for a UX Researcher at our Irvine, CA facility who loves to listen to users, discover what they need, and draw insights to design innovative features for the future of automobile user experience with Hyundai, Kia, and Genesis vehicles. Using a user-centered approach, you will plan, conduct, facilitate, and manage user research in the American context. You will support the UX design process by providing insights into user behaviors, expectations, and unspoken needs related to automobiles. You should have a solid understanding of UX design principles and research methods, including evaluative and generative design, qualitative and quantitative human research methods. You will demonstrate design thinking that integrates marketing, engineering, and social sciences within a fast-paced agile environment, especially during the transition to electric vehicles, autonomous driving, and innovative transportation solutions. Job responsibilities include:
Supporting a team culture of empathy and understanding user needs and desires while balancing business goals Engaging in fast-paced listening, ideation, prototyping, and evaluation within an Agile UX design process Moderating qualitative studies such as ethnography, contextual inquiry, interviews, and participatory design Designing quantitative research, analyzing data, and translating findings into design insights Developing UX design solutions based on research insights, including prototyping and user testing Communicating research data and design ideas effectively across teams, guiding UX writing and instructional design Occasional domestic or overseas travel (up to 20%) for research and tech shows Desired impact and qualifications:
Passion for future automotive UX Portfolio demonstrating involvement in UX research and design projects Creative problem-solving skills and flexibility Excellent communication skills (verbal, written, visual) Proficiency in MS Office applications Qualifications:
