divh2Nondestructive Tester Supervisor/h2pAs a Nondestructive Tester Supervisor, this position is located in an Air National Guard Aviation Wing, Maintenance Group, Fabrication Flight. This is an Air National Guard (ANG) Dual Status Technician position requiring military membership, compatible military skill assignment, and classification. The primary purpose of this position is to supervise workers on a day-to-day or project-by-project basis, either directly or through one or more subordinate leaders, in accomplishing the work operations of the organizational segment or work shift and to perform associated nonsupervisory work./ppThe occupation and grade level which best reflects the nature of the overall work operations supervised is Nondestructive Tester, WG-3705-10./ppDuties include:/pulliPlanning and scheduling specific work assignments on a daily or project-by-project basis within specified time requirements./liliArranging for adequate personnel, materials, and equipment to accomplish the work./liliAssigning tasks to be performed, explaining prescribed methods and procedures, instructing subordinates on new procedures, and providing assistance on problems./liliReviewing work in progress and on completion, obtaining approval from supervisor for changes in standard or prescribed procedures and changes in work operations./liliSuggesting ways or methods to improve operations or reduce costs./liliRecommending individuals to fill vacancies or for promotion or reassignment, assisting in the establishment of performance standards, and making recommendations for performance appraisals./liliCounseling with employees on disciplinary issues and recommending disciplinary action, attempting to resolve informal complaints and grievances, and referring unresolved or more serious issues to supervisor./liliConducting on-the-job training and recommending employees for formal training programs./liliScheduling leave and approving leave for short periods of time./liliEnsuring that regulations governing safety and housekeeping are observed./liliExplaining and implementing personnel programs such as equal opportunity, position management, position description review, and labor relations./liliMaintaining production reports and records./li/ulpRequirements include:/pulliNational Guard Membership is required./liliMales born after 31 December 1959 must be registered for Selective Service./liliParticipation in direct deposit is mandatory./liliU.S. citizenship is required./liliThis position is covered by the Domestic Violence Misdemeanor Amendment (30 Sep 96) of the Gun Control Act (Lautenberg Amendment) of 1968. You are responsible to maintain awareness of your environmental responsibilities as dictated by legal and regulatory requirements, your organization, and its changing mission./liliMust be able to establish effective professional working relationships with coworkers and customers, contributing to a cooperative working environment and successful accomplishment of the mission./liliMay occasionally be required to work other than normal duty hours; shift work and/or overtime may be required./liliFederal employment suitability required and determined by a background investigation before appointment to position./liliMay be required to successfully complete a trial period./liliMust have a valid drivers license./liliMust be able to obtain/maintain the necessary security clearance for the position./liliMilitary Assignment Requirement: Open to Enlisted members only./liliMilitary Rank/Grade Requirement: Minimum Rank TSgt/E-06 to Maximum Rank MSgt/E-07./liliCompatible Military AFSC Requirement: 2A772./liliThis is not a cross training opportunity./liliApplicants outside of the ORANG must submit documents showing award of AFSC such as a tech school certificate, Data Brief, vMPF rip, and/or DD214./li/ulpQualifications include:/ppAreas of Consideration:/pulliArea 1 - Current permanent and indefinite T32 technicians of the Oregon ANG./liliArea 2 - Current permanent and indefinite T5 employees of the Oregon ANG./liliArea 3 - Current service members in the Oregon ANG./liliArea 4 - Individuals in the active duty US Air Force, Air Force Reserve, or Air National Guard./liliArea 5 - US Citizens eligible to meet the military requirements for membership in the Oregon ANG./li/ulpGeneral and Specialized Experience Qualification Requirements:/ppWork involves nondestructive examination of metals, composites, ceramics, plastics, and other materials for internal and external structural defects, delaminations, corrosion, and moisture penetration using magnetic particle, liquid penetrant, eddy current, radiographic, ultrasonic, or other types of nondestructive test processes and equipment. Experience or training which demonstrates the ability to set up and operate test equipment, use test apparatus to apply tests to material or products, record readings, observe and record established reactions, and classify according to defined categories./ppWS (All Grade Levels) must have 36 months experience or training in using ultrasonic and/or eddy current inspection techniques to observe, measure, and detect discontinuities and flaws. Experience classifying test results, identifying material deficiencies, and recommending courses of action for items of equipment. Experience recommending engine components to be inspected and forwarding results to the appropriate authority. Experience performing scheduled inspections of testing equipment ensuring compliance with established technical regulations and procedures. In addition to the journeyman level knowledge, experience which demonstrates the ability to plan, direct, and organize work assignments for lower grade personnel. Experience which required the review of work requirements and establish priorities to meet deadlines. Experience that provided knowledge of various lines of work performed by this function. Experience which demonstrates the ability to supervise or the potential to perform such duties as evidenced by the ability to communicate knowledge of general supervisory concepts, and knowledge of shop processes.
