A registered nurse with PCU/Stepdown experience is sought for a rewarding contract position located in Independence, MO. This role offers the opportunity to provide high-quality nursing care in a specialized Progressive Care Unit environment, supporting patients who require close monitoring and advanced nursing interventions. Responsibilities: Deliver comprehensive nursing care to stepdown and progressive care patients. Monitor patient status frequently, including high acuity drip management. Utilize advanced nursing skills such as arterial line care and bipap-airvo support. Collaborate effectively with interdisciplinary healthcare teams. Manage patient care documentation and maintain compliance with protocols. Float to lesser acuity units as needed to support department needs. Work night shifts with every other weekend coverage and major holiday scheduling. Qualifications and Desired Experience: Current RN license with at least 1 year of PCU or stepdown nursing experience. Proficiency with high acuity drip medications. Experience managing arterial lines and bipap-airvo devices preferred. Certifications required: ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS. Ability to adapt to a nicotine-free facility and flexible scheduling. Commitment to working scheduled night hours (12-hour shifts) with weekend rotations. Schedule/Hours: 12-hour night shifts, 6:45 PM to 7:15 AM. Orientation Monday to Friday from 8 AM to 5 PM.
