Gastroenterologist (MD/DO)

Position Summary

The Gastroenterologist provides comprehensive medical care for patients with disorders of the gastrointestinal tract, liver, pancreas, and biliary system. This role includes outpatient clinical care, inpatient consultation, and performance of diagnostic and therapeutic endoscopic procedures while delivering evidence-based, patient-centered care. Key Responsibilities

Evaluate, diagnose, and manage acute and chronic gastrointestinal and hepatobiliary conditions Provide outpatient gastroenterology clinic services and inpatient consultative care Perform diagnostic and therapeutic endoscopic procedures, including upper endoscopy (EGD) and colonoscopy Develop and implement individualized treatment plans based on clinical guidelines Order, interpret, and review laboratory tests, imaging studies, pathology, and endoscopy results Manage patients with liver disease, inflammatory bowel disease, functional GI disorders, and GI bleeding Collaborate with primary care providers, surgeons, oncologists, radiologists, and other specialists Educate patients and families regarding diagnoses, treatment options, and preventive care Maintain accurate, timely, and compliant documentation in the electronic health record Participate in call coverage and endoscopy unit responsibilities as required Adhere to quality, safety, and regulatory standards and participate in quality improvement initiatives Qualifications

Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) Completion of an accredited Internal Medicine residency program Completion of an accredited Gastroenterology fellowship Board eligible or board certified in Gastroenterology Active or eligible state medical license DEA registration or eligibility Skills and Competencies

Strong clinical expertise in gastrointestinal and liver disease management Proficiency in diagnostic and therapeutic endoscopy Excellent communication and patient counseling skills Ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary healthcare environment Commitment to high-quality, evidence-based patient care Work Environment

Combination of outpatient clinic, inpatient consult service, and endoscopy suite Schedule and call responsibilities vary by practice model Must maintain state certification and/or licensure. LANGUAGE: Must be able to fluently speak, read and write English. Fluency in Chinese (Cantonese) is preferred. Fluency in other languages is an asset.
