Overview WakeMed Physician Practices is a multi‑specialty group with nearly 500 physicians in a variety of specialty areas. We are currently seeking a board‑certified or board‑eligible general thoracic surgeon to join our established group in Raleigh, NC. With a new and growing medical oncology program and a growing robotic interventional pulmonology program, we seek a surgeon to step in for a surgeon moving out of clinical practice. Our team provides services in our Raleigh‑based hospital as well as the Cary location. The candidate will provide minimally invasive and/or robotic surgery to encompass a breadth of general thoracic surgery conditions.

Responsibilities

Provide quality clinical care to patients within the division.

Provide teaching and supervision to residents, medical students, and APPs.

Ensure appropriate coding and maintain corporate compliance.

Participate in general administrative responsibilities of the practice.

Report directly to the Director of the assigned division and support the mission and values of WakeMed Physician Practices and WakeMed.

Qualifications

Licensed medical physician.

Doctorate in Medicine (MD).

Board‑certified or board‑eligible in general thoracic surgery.

Completion of fellowship, internship, or residency in a related area.

Experience in minimally invasive and/or robotic thoracic surgery preferred.
