The Solutions Architect at Coalition Technologies is a senior development professional responsible for defining, planning, and executing complex web design and development projects. This role involves close collaboration with sales, strategy, project management, design, and development teams. Key responsibilities may also include specialized front-end or back-end development for high-value or complex projects. The Solutions Architect reports directly to the Director of Design and Development and the President.

Key Responsibilities and Duties

Educate prospects on various platform solutions (e.g., BigCommerce, Shopify, Magento, WordPress) using a consultative, best practices approach, including analysis and analytics to match business and technical requirements.

Conduct needs analysis and technical scoping sessions with prospective customers to gather and document essential requirements.

Provide pre-sales technical consulting to the Sales staff through online demonstrations, conference calls, and site visits with project managers.

Document prospective client needs and detailed project requirements.

Serve as a trusted advisor and the voice of the sales and marketing teams for prospects and partners.

Collaborate closely with the sales team on proposals and RFPs, ensuring all technical information and recommendations meet client requirements.

Develop custom solutions to meet prospect needs, working with third-party partners or solutions when necessary.

Contribute to thought leadership content, white papers, and sales/marketing collateral highlighting agency capabilities for partners, prospects, and clients.

Develop new processes and practices to maintain industry leadership across respective teams.

Stay current with the latest features, capabilities, and applications released by different platforms to provide optimal client guidance.

Lead internal project planning and development of recurring solutions for frequent client needs (e.g., web application development for common e-commerce merchant features).

Support design and project management teams during project discovery to anticipate UX best practices and scopes of work for future project phases.

Provide emergency development support for key Coalition clients and major accounts.

Required Skills & Experience

4–5+ years of Solutions Engineering experience in a relevant market or a similar senior-level development position.

Strong knowledge of core web technologies, including

HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and PHP .

Experience with diverse e-commerce and CMS platforms such as

BigCommerce, Shopify, Magento, and WordPress .

Proven experience in solution architecture, project scoping, and product demonstration skills.

Comfortable delivering consultative presentations to C-level business executives and engaging in detailed, in-depth technical discussions.

Experience with commerce solutions and applications, including POS, product catalogs, order management, ERP, and payment gateways.

Sales methodology and solution selling training is a plus.

A charismatic, energetic, and self-starting personality.

Ability to collaborate with and motivate multiple groups toward task accomplishment.

Strong verbal, presentation, written, and organizational skills, coupled with a passion for winning.

For candidates located in California, New York, Washington, and Colorado, the starting base pay for this position ranges between $22.50 - $35 per hour. Compensation is variable based on factors such as experience, qualifications, skills test performance, geographic location, and the seniority of the position offered. Compensation outside of these states may fall outside the specified ranges.
