Fund Accountant
Our client, a leading real estate investment firm, is seeking a Fund Accountant to join its accounting team.
Location: San Francisco, CA. This role is hybrid with in-office expectations 3 days per week.
Job Description: This role supports monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes, investor reporting, and audit/tax preparation for multiple investment vehicles. The position offers exposure to fund accounting, financial statement preparation, and collaboration with senior leadership.
Responsibilities:
Perform monthly consolidation and reconciliation of investment accounts for funds, joint ventures, and separate accounts. Record month-end journal entries and maintain general ledger accuracy. Prepare quarterly financial statements and investor reporting packages in accordance with GAAP. Support annual audit and tax processes, including preparation of financial packages. Collaborate with internal teams on ad hoc projects, acquisitions, and dispositions. Maintain partner capital accounts and assist with REIT compliance.
Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting and 2–4 years of accounting experience. Experience in real estate, private equity, or financial services preferred. Proficiency in Excel, Word, and Outlook; experience with MRI and Juniper Square is a plus. Strong understanding of partnership/fund accounting concepts. Highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple priorities.
