Summary Description The Paper Machine Coordinating Manager coordinates and directs the production activities of the Q41 paper machine Wet End, Dry End, or Coating and Additives Area. Create consistency and advocacy across all crews while closing the gaps in the areas of safety, production, quality, direct material usages and indirect spending.
Key Accountabilities
Coordinate and direct production activities of the Q41 paper machine Wet End.
Provide leadership and support to ensure employee safety and compliance with environment regulations.
Responsible for safety, quality, cost and efficient operation of the Q41 Paper Machine.
Provide operational direction and leadership to the crews and the Team Leaders.
Provide input and direction to the maintenance team to ensure reliable operation.
Oversee inventory and spending on machine clothing / roll covering.
Department resource and coordinator for resolving operational issues.
Monitor and direct the operational aspects of reducing the Realize-able Gaps.
Identify where capital opportunities exists to close Realize-able Gaps.
Participate in the hiring, promotional and certification processes.
Provide leadership and support to promote reliable operation of paper complex production equipment
Ensure product quality and consistency through the use of systems including PVR.
Required Experience and Education Minimum Required Experience and Education
Bachelor of Science degree in the field of science, engineering or technology OR
5 years of experience in operations and / or technical responsibilities in pulp or paper manufacturing
Commit to work safely and promote others to do so as well.
Ability to lead and work cooperatively and effectively with a team towards a common goal.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks.
Computer skills with strong Excel knowledge.
Confident self-starter with demonstrated ability to plan and organize.
Experience with high-speed paper machine.
Strong operational papermaking skills with technical background, and customer focus.
Proven experience with: Leading and Advocating Change, Drive for Results, Communication, Managerial Courage, Building an Effective Team, and Managing through Systems.
Required skills Minimum Required Skills
Strong communications, interpersonal and organizational skills as well as demonstrated abilities to champion change and influence others at all levels of the organization.
Ability to give encouragement, guidance, and direction to improve safety performance.
Self-starter able to work effectively with minimal direct supervision.
Maintain knowledge of corporate, state, and federal safety rules and regulations.
Physical stamina and agility to conduct on-site inspections of the facility and equipment
