CohnReznick is a hybrid firm and most of our professionals are located within a commutable distance to one of our offices. This position is considered hybrid which means team members are expected to be thoughtful and intentional in how they create opportunities for in-person collaboration. While the cadence of in-office presence is determined at the team level, our professionals are encouraged to be in the office/together in person on average 3 days a week.

YOUR ROLE Responsibilities

Serving as the Engagement Manager on specific client accounts, taking responsibility for pre-engagement planning, execution, final deliverable development, and billing and collections.

Developing professional relationships with clients and gaining their respect and confidence by consistently demonstrating supreme customer service, quality work products, and professional integrity.

Serving as the prime point-of-contact to clients and ensuring that the clients are fully informed of engagement progress and logistics.

Leading and managing multiple tax engagements that integrate tax efficiency with long-term tax planning strategies

Identifying industry/client tax planning opportunities and issues

Facilitating complex tax research, and establishing tax strategies for various client business transactions

Advising regarding IRS and state issues, and responding to correspondence and audits

Providing supervision, coaching, and mentoring to tax staff, seniors, managers and other team members

Gaining the respect and confidence of the CohnReznick team through effective client management, timely and accurate communication, and clear and concise team direction and guidance.

YOUR EXPERIENCE The successful candidate will have:

BS/BA in Accounting Required, Master’s in Accounting/Taxation preferred

CPA or JD required

Minimum 8+ years tax & accounting experience in public accounting; Real Estate industry experience preferred.

Excellent analytical, technical, and accounting skills

Exceptional client service and communication skills with a demonstrated ability to develop and maintain outstanding client relationships

Strong leadership, and mentoring skills, coupled with excellent written, interpersonal, and presentation skills

Strong working knowledge of accounting and tax preparation software (CCH Engagement, CCH Access, and GoSystems experience a plus) and MS Office applications (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint)

Strong tax technical and research skills

Exceptional organizational skills with a demonstrated ability to multi-task
