The incumbent serves as the Local Jail Corrections Transition Specialist for state offenders serving their sentence in an assigned local jail (or jails). Charged with assessing offender risks and needs to insure proper placement of the offender and offer rehabilitation programs to offenders in the assigned jail(s). The position is domiciled in Caldwell Parish, supervised by the Program Consultant‑Social Services at the Alexandria Probation & Parole Office. Key Responsibilities

Provide rehabilitative and reentry program instruction to state offenders in the assigned local jail or jails. Formulate case plans for offenders to insure the offender’s needs are met both pre‑ and post‑release. Participate in regular evaluations of local jail reentry programs to demonstrate program effectiveness and identify areas in need of improvement. Work with a diverse, well‑oriented team of consultants who supervise Transition Specialists with extensive experience in their roles. Will supervise Classified Foremen (other employees) and inmate tradesmen. Qualifications

Six years of experience in social services, corrections, psychology, counseling, nursing
