New Mexico Donor Services (NMDS) is seeking a dynamic, enthusiastic Quality Coordinator to our team and help save lives through organ donation. The role focuses on ensuring the integrity, compliance, and security of donor information while meeting reporting requirements for state, regulatory, and accrediting agencies.

Key Responsibilities

Obtain, review, and report all culture results, ensuring correct differentiation between potential infections or contamination and reporting within 24 hours to appropriate transplant centers and governing bodies.

Obtain, review, and report autopsy results for organ donors, assessing cause of death and incidental findings for recipient transplant centers.

Notify transplant centers and applicable agencies of any reportable findings.

Obtain autopsy results for tissue donors and provide them to the Quality Assurance Team for dissemination to processors.

Obtain recipient follow‑up for all donor cases from relevant transplant centers.

Coordinate with Exam Works to provide timely organ/donor reimbursement to hospitals and maintain accurate donor records.

Monitor status of required UNET data reporting (DDR, donor disposition, PTRs, etc.).

Assist the Clinical Review Coordinator with organ donor chart reviews.

Provide seven‑day coverage for reportable events such as culture results and autopsies, when applicable.

Recognize and report confirmed reportable diseases to applicable state agencies.

Schedule and lead monthly Quality Department meetings and prepare meeting minutes.

Maintain logs for off‑site storage of records and coordinate with the off‑site storage facility.

Identify trends and opportunities for process improvement related to donor records and OPO statistics.

Maintain effective communication with DCIDS and other DCIDS departments regarding job functions and tasks.

Serve as a role model for DCIDS core values: selfless, hardworking, passionate, and dependable.

Perform other duties as assigned.

The Ideal Candidate Will Have

Associate’s degree or equivalent; Bachelor’s degree in related healthcare preferred.

At least 1 year of prior medical records or related medical job experience.

Basic computer skills and data entry proficiency.
