Job Summary The staff accountant will perform general accounting work, including month-end closing procedures, reconciling general ledger accounts, and variance reporting. The staff accountant will be responsible for performing day-to-day accounting functions, including receiving Purchase Orders, processing AP, billing customers, reconciling WIP and General Ledger accounts, and maintaining records.
Skills Required
Strong Understanding of GAAP
Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and/or Google Suite application
QuickBooks experience is a plus
Ability to retain and source job-specific information
Education
Bachelor's degree in Accounting and Finance (preferred)
Experience A minimum of three years of general accounting experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience, sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties and essential core competencies.
Essential Functions Leading to Success
Asset Capitalization Policy adherence
Preparing journal entries, reconciling general ledger accounts, and analyzing and reconciling expense and revenue accounts.
General understanding of best practices for receivable tracking, fixed asset allocation, and internal asset reporting.
Performing all aspects of accounts payable and accounts receivable processes
Assist with special projects as requested by the VP of Finance and the Senior Accounting Team.
Be able to demonstrate attention to detail and good record-keeping skills
