Contract - 3 months to start, with strong potential for permanent hire
Position Overview This is a hands-on role responsible for managing payroll for approximately 700 employees across 41 states (excluding NY), with semi-monthly cycles. The position requires strong expertise in Workday Payroll and NetSuite, as well as experience with payroll journal entries, reconciliations, and process improvement.
Key Responsibilities
Accurately process semi-monthly payroll using Workday and OSV
Prepare and book payroll journal entries and reconciliations
Troubleshoot payroll errors and review payroll with leadership prior to submission
Recommend improvements to payroll processes and system setup
Support general ledger accounting and monthly close in NetSuite
Assist with quarterly and annual tax payments, audit requests, and financial reporting
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field, or equivalent experience
Minimum 4 years of technical accounting experience under US GAAP
Advanced proficiency in Workday Payroll (ideally a “power user”)
Strong experience with NetSuite
Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel
Detail-oriented, proactive communicator, and comfortable asking questions to ensure accuracy
Preferred
Experience with financial reporting tools
Background in public accounting
