ABOUT THE ROLE We are seeking a skilled and detail‑oriented Process Engineer to develop and implement new or revised processes or equipment to support new or legacy products and drive continuous improvement initiatives including safety, product quality, scrap and cost reduction, consistency, higher efficiency, and greater machine utilisation performance. This role generates value by providing manufacturing process control expertise, process engineering leadership, supporting manufacturing operations and other functional departments, and be responsible for implementation of sustainable continuous improvement programs. The ideal candidate will have in‑depth knowledge in process engineering practice, structured systematic lean Six Sigma problem‑solving tools, along with excellent analytical, organisational and project management skills.
WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING
Work closely with the respective area performance lead and manufacturing operations groups to improve safety performance, quality and productivity, and drive down scrap rate, downtime and cost.
Evaluation and qualification of process parameters, equipment and materials, implementation of process control plan along with PFMEA.
Update and maintain manufacturing process procedures. Perform technical study, process characterisation/optimisation, document and monitor the process performance and consistency.
Conduct SPC analysis to assess results for applicability, validity, and conformance to product specifications.
Establish and control the process specs tolerance ensuring process standard is met.
Provide training and technical support to manufacturing teams to resolve quality and production issues and throughput enhancement.
Conduct problem solving investigation in a timely manner and implement corrective action accordingly.
Manage new product introduction (NPI), qualifications, automation effort, plant trials, capability study, process variation reduction lean Six Sigma projects/activities.
Investigate critical ‘Quality issues’ and customer complaints as requested. Interface frequently with the Quality function on corrective actions.
Collaborate with the R&D, Engineering group and stakeholders for the respective assigned projects.
Work independently and in cross‑functional teams. Manage/support lean Six Sigma manufacturing continuous improvement and waste reduction initiatives.
Reinforce the company safety culture and holds personal accountable for good safety practice.
Perform additional duties as assigned.
Demonstrate a commitment to communicating, improving and adhering to health, safety and environmental policies in all work environments and areas. Promote a culture of safety and exhibit these behaviours.
WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR Education:
Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering (preferred), Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering or advanced degree in Chemistry.
Experience:
Minimum of 5 years of experience in plant manufacturing operations. High volume rubber production (a plus), or other related manufacturing experience.
Green Belt or Black Belt certified is preferred.
Experience in Lean Six Sigma problem‑solving tools (DMAIC, Process Mapping, Pareto Chart, 5‑whys, 5S, fishbone diagram, cause & effect).
Proven track record of continuous improvement and process control.
Strong knowledge of process engineering, process control and project management.
Excellent in structured data‑driven problem‑solving skills.
Technical competence in rubber manufacturing operations.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
Proficiency in MS Excel, Word and PowerPoint. Minitab experience is a plus.
Ability to plan, organise, and prioritise tasks effectively.
Additional Requirements:
Successful candidates must adhere to all safety protocols and proper use of Amrize approved Personal Protection Equipment (“PPE”), including but not limited to respirators.
Employees that are required to wear respirators must be clean shaven where the respirator seal meets the face in order to pass the qualitative and quantitative fit test.
