Job Opportunity This Speech Therapist opportunity is per diem and offers a convenient schedule. This dynamic individual will be responsible for administration and direct application of speech/language pathology treatment modalities as prescribed by a referring physician. The role includes evaluating, planning, directing and treating all patients referred to speech/language pathology treatments to restore function and prevent disability following disease or injury. The therapist assists patients to obtain maximum performance and function in society while learning to live a routine “normal” life within the constraints of their disability. Additional responsibilities include participation in performance improvement activities, CQI activities, budget considerations, scheduling, administrative duties, infection control, safety and educational programs.
Job Duties / Responsibilities
Upon physician referral, performs patient evaluations to determine problems and goals.
Able to assess patient pain interfering with optimal level of function or participation in rehabilitation – makes appropriate physician contact for intervention.
Performs all aspects of patient care in an environment that optimizes patient safety and reduces the likelihood of medical/health care errors.
Formulates a teaching plan based upon identified learning needs and evaluates effectiveness of learning; family is included in teaching as appropriate.

Qualifications
Holds a master’s degree from an approved college or school of speech/language pathology.
Current State Licensure in Speech Pathology (as Speech Pathologist).
Current BLS certification.
FEES NICU experience.
