BCCS is a community organization that helps members of the community recover with dignity by providing Education, Advocacy, Prevention, Early Intervention, and Treatment Services. We promote hope and empowerment to persons and families touched by mental illness, substance abuse, HIV and related challenges. Peer Recovery Specialist - Part Time What You\'ll Do as a Peer Recovery Specialist
Supports clients in building social skills in the community that will enhance job acquisition. Educate and empower individuals by assisting them in developing a strong, stable recovery support system. Assist individuals with self-care and self-awareness, encouragement and support, teaching coping skills and the positive benefits of long-term recovery. Models effective coping techniques and self-help strategies. Performs all other duties as assigned by the Peer Recovery Supervisor. Supports clients in articulating personal goals for recovery and wellness and the objectives necessary to reach their recovery and wellness goals. Teaches clients how to facilitate their recovery. Teaches clients techniques for identifying and combatting negative self-talk, identifying and overcoming fears. Teaches and role models the value of every individual’s recovery experience. Utilizes and teaches problem-solving techniques with individuals and groups. Completes wellness plans and makes appropriate referrals to outside agencies. Schedule
Saturday and Sunday 8:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. 10 hours per week Qualifications
REQUIRED: High school diploma or GED REQUIRED: Valid driver\'s license with 2 points or less REQUIRED: Must be a peer. BCCS employs a diverse workforce, and we especially encourage applications from those who are in recovery. This position requires that the candidate chosen for it is a peer. BCCS defines a peer as anyone who is in recovery from addiction to drugs, alcohol, or mental health. REQUIRED: Minimum of 2 years’ in recovery PREFERRED: Certified Peer Recovery Specialist (CPRS) If you are not certified, certification is required within the first year of employment. Pay
Starting at $18/hour Commensurate based on experience, education, and certification
