Job Summary
Allen 2 is a 28‑bed geriatric psych unit located at Eastern State Hospital. The primary responsibilities for this position consist of providing total, comprehensive, continuous and patient‑centered care which includes assessing, documenting, planning, implementing, teaching, developing and evaluating a comprehensive nursing plan of care; delivering direct patient care; ensuring patient satisfaction; training and delegating duties for Nursing Care Technicians; and adhering to university policies and procedures as well as federal, state and local regulations. Responsibilities
Assess, document, plan, implement, teach and evaluate a comprehensive nursing plan of care. Deliver direct patient care and assure patient satisfaction. Train and delegate duties for Nursing Care Technicians and Nursing Assistants. Collaborate with physicians to enhance expected patient outcomes. Qualifications
Active Kentucky Registered Nurse (RN) license or equivalent compact state RN license in good standing. AHA Basic Life Support certification valid for at least 6 months after employment date. BSN + at least 1 year of RN experience (preferred). No experience required (preferred). Physical Requirements
Ability to lift, carry, push and pull 50‑100 pounds daily and 25‑50 pounds frequently; stand, walk and sit for long periods; and exposure to communicable diseases, radiation hazards and sharp instruments. Shift
7 pm‑7:30 am; must work three 12‑hour shifts per week and weekends/holidays. Deadline to Apply
