Base pay range $120,000.00/yr - $140,000.00/yr
Our company provides fund finance solutions to private equity firms including NAV and management company loans, and we’re looking to add an experienced Associate to our team.
The Associate will be a key player on our investment team who is integral with deal execution, portfolio management, and origination, while also serving as a mentor to junior team members.
Responsibilities Deal Execution
Act as a key player on investment teams analyzing and underwriting new investment opportunities
Perform due diligence on both the fund’s portfolio companies and the private equity sponsor
Prepare investment committee memos highlighting relevant investment risks and potential mitigants
Work closely with deal lawyers to review, negotiate, and properly document credit agreements
Act as the point person monitoring deals after executing them, including monitoring borrower performance, valuation changes, covenant compliance, liquidity, and PE fund changes
Evaluate and help execute borrower requests for amendments, waivers, and upsizes
Origination
Support deal origination efforts by assisting with market mapping, outreach to PE firms and intermediaries, and preparation of marketing materials
People Management
Help mentor and train junior Hark team members
Requirements
3-5 years of relevant work experience in NAV lending, capital call/hybrid lending, commercial banking, leveraged finance or sponsor coverage
Credit skills, especially analyzing middle market companies
Attention to detail and project management: Ability to act with meaningful autonomy with modest supervision
Analytical, writing and presentation skills
Interpersonal and networking skills needed to be effective in building relationships, both internally and externally
Self-starter excited about working on a small, entrepreneurial team
Outstanding work ethic
The ability to work on-site 4 days per week at our New York City office and to travel based on business needs (approx. 10%)
