Position Overview As we expand our loan product, we’re looking for a detail-oriented and agile Assistant Controller to help us scale our financial operations with accuracy, control, and strategic insight. This is an exciting opportunity to be a key finance leader in a growing fintech environment, driving process improvements, ensuring compliance, and supporting the financial health of a new product line.
How you’ll make an impact
Lead and support accounting functions related to Snap’s loan product
Assist in managing the month-end and year-end close processes, including journal entries, reconciliations, and consolidated financial reporting
Ensure accurate and timely financial statements in accordance with GAAP and industry-specific requirements
Maintain and improve internal controls and compliance standards
Partner with Product, Risk, Compliance, and Operations teams to ensure accurate accounting for loan related activities
Support audits (external and internal) and work with external advisors on regulatory reporting related to loan product
Contribute to the implementation and enhancement of scalable systems and processes that can support a growing loan portfolio
Mentor and guide accounting team members with a focus on fintech and consumer credit best practices
What you’ll need to succeed
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (CPA strongly preferred)
4+ years of accounting experience, with experience in the consumer lending or banking space
Proven success working in fast-paced environments or high-growth startups
Proficiency in ERP systems (e.g., NetSuite) and strong Excel skills
Strong communication skills with a collaborative, proactive mindset
Familiarity with SOX controls, financial audits, and fintech infrastructure
