$170,000.00/yr - $190,000.00/yr Direct message the job poster from CFO Recruit CFO Recruit is partnering with a growing, privately owned hospitality company in the northern suburbs of Salt Lake City, Utah. We are seeking a hands on Controller to lead a small accounting team and manage the day to day financial operations of a mid‑sized business. The Controller will streamline the month‑end close process, improve the financial reporting package and provide greater financial analysis to support informed decision making. This role would suit a Finance Manager, Accounting Manager, Controller or Senior Accountant/Manager within an Accounting firm. The ideal candidate will possess excellent technical accounting skills and a mindset of continuous improvement able to drive efficiency through strong systems and processes. Responsibilities
Lead the monthly, quarterly, and annual close across multiple legal entities and locations. Prepare and review consolidated GAAP financial statements, including intercompany eliminations. Manage complex equity structures, including ownership accounting, equity roll forwards, and related disclosures. Serve as the technical accounting lead for Revenue Recognition, Lease Accounting for real estate and equipment leases. Oversee bank covenant calculations and reporting. Manage external audits, acting as primary liaison with auditors. Oversee sales and use tax compliance across multiple jurisdictions. Design, implement, and maintain internal controls and segregation of duties frameworks. Optimize the NetSuite ERP environment identifying and implementing improvements as appropriate. Hire, mentor, and develop a high‑performing accounting team. Qualifications and experience
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance required, CPA/Master’s Degree preferred. 8+ years of progressive accounting experience required, track record in multi-location hospitality, retail or similar operating environment preferred. Demonstrated experience with multi-entity consolidations and eliminations, accrual-based accounting in complex entity structures, equity accounting, GAAP financial statement preparation and review, managing external audits, sales and use tax preparation and review. Strong understanding of internal controls and close governance. The compensation advertised for this role is a guideline and the compensation offered will be commensurate with experience.
