Stable Saving Bank located Downtown seeks a Staff Accountant to join the Team Responsibilities
Assists supervising the daily accounting and department administrative activities, including accounts payable (AP), bank reconciliations, and general ledger entries. Coordinates and executes month-end and year-end closing procedures efficiently and accurately. Plans, assigns, and reviews the work of junior accountants and staff, provides training and mentorship, conducts performance evaluations, and manages work schedules and time off. Maintain the general ledger system and chart of accounts. Perform subsidiary and consolidation accounting and reporting. Review and validate Net Capital Computation schedule, non-allowable asset schedule and quarterly FOCUS report. Ensure accuracy in the leases, prepaid and fixed assets records and comply with the Purchasing and Fixed Assets Policies. Identifies opportunities to streamline and automate accounting workflows and improve efficiency in accounting operations, often by leveraging accounting software and systems. Assists in preparing and filing tax returns and related compliance documents. Monitor correspondent bank balances daily and initiate transfer to highest yielding bank account (FRB or FHLB). Prepare monthly financial reports and review accurate and timely financial statements (balance sheets, income statements). Analyze financial data, reports, and budget variances to identify trends, resolve complex problems, and provide insights to management to help monitor departmental expenditures against established budgets. Qualifications
2 years of accounting related experience Strong knowledge of GAAP and regulatory compliance Proficiency in Oracle accounting software or other ERP systems Advanced Excel skills Knowledge of financial accounting principles and concepts in order to perform tasks listed in Major Duties and Responsibilities above Knowledge and ability to perform mining of data, analysis, and reporting Proficient with MS Excel, Word and Outlook
