Hendrick Motorsports is seeking an experienced RACE Engine Block - Cleaning / Wash Technician.
Summary
This position consists of cleaning and inspecting engine blocks. This cleaning process utilizes hand tools, power drills, and high-pressure cleaning equipment. Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following
Responsible for shop and break room clean-up, including but not limited to sweeping, mopping, and scrubbing. Responsible for cleaning engine blocks that have been routed to the cleaning department after the engine has been disassembled. Responsible for removing grease build-up, corrosion products, etc., as well as preparing blocks for the next overhaul step using various cleaning compounds and chemical solutions, spray guns, brushes, etc. Responsible for operating Storm Vulcan and Stingray block washing machines. Completes forms associated with work assignments according to established procedures. Responsible for the completion of assigned shop tasks and projects, including providing support to other technicians to complete necessary work in a timely manner. Maintain a safe, clean, and neat work environment through proper housekeeping and organization. Qualifications

Detail-Oriented - paying attention to the minute details of a project or task. Listening - utilize active listening skills. Problem-Solving - ability to find a solution for or to deal proactively with work-related problems. Quality Work – responsible for producing quality, to-specification work. Repairing - repairing items using needed tools and equipment. Safety Awareness - ability to identify and correct conditions that affect employee safety. Self-Motivated - ability to be internally inspired to perform a task to the best of one’s ability using his or her own drive or initiative. Technical Aptitude – utilize intermediate technical and mechanical troubleshooting skills. Time Management - ability to utilize the available time to organize and complete work within given deadlines. Working Under Pressure - ability to complete assigned tasks under stressful situations. Education/Experience
Intermediate mechanical and technical aptitude desired. Technical training in automotive manufacturing a plus Communication Skills
Must be a team player and effectively utilize strong communication skills with others in the department and organization. Attendance Expectations
The position requires regular and predictable attendance. Scheduled shifts may include evening hours, weekends, and holidays. Must be able to work a flex schedule as needed. Physical Demands
Requires vision (near, distance, depth), sense of touch, and ability to wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) – safety glasses, hearing protection. Constantly manually manipulates, squats or kneels, bends, lifts/carries up to 20 pounds, and pushes/pulls 12 pounds or less. Frequently stands, walks, sits, reaches outward, reaches above shoulder, lifts/carries up to 50 pounds, and pushes/pulls up to 25 pounds. Occasionally climbs, crawls, lifts/carries up to and over 100 pounds, and pushes/pulls up to 100 pounds. Environment Demands
