About the Role The Manager, Master Data Management will drive the development and deployment of a comprehensive Master Data Management strategy across Life Sciences sites, ensuring the item master initiatives including new part setups in Oracle ERP for manufacturing and finished goods as well as change management. The Manager will collaborate across Life Science Operations teams including Planning, Engineering (New Product), Procurement, IT, and Quality, as well as Finance and Marketing to establish and execute standardized practices, enable clean and trusted data, and foster a culture of governance and continuous improvement.

This position reports to the Global Director, Materials & Planning within the Life Sciences Global Operations and Supply Chain Team and is part of the Master Data Management (MDM) team located in Indianapolis, Indiana. The role is an on‑site position.

In This Role, You Will Have The Opportunity To Team Leadership

Proactively lead an off‑shore team of (currently) six (6) individual contributors and one (1) US‑based associates. Manage performance objectives (P4G), daily performance guidance, key performance indicators (KPI), stakeholder collaboration, and associate development (D4G) plans.

Strategic Leadership

Develop and scale a unified MDM strategy tailored to operational needs across Life Sciences sites.

Lead data assessments to identify appropriate MDM tools for cleansing and leveraging insights.

Facilitate a cross‑functional Global MDM Council for Life Sciences, meeting quarterly or monthly as needed.

Partner with IT, Procurement, Engineering, Planning, Finance, and Quality teams to align data governance efforts.

Review global data domains (e.g., Finance, Planning, Procurement) and develop assigned ownership/stewardship.

Operational & Tactical Execution

Assess current‑state data across systems and outline forward‑looking data management approaches including MDM strategy implementation and tools.

Collaborate with domain owners to develop audit and reporting frameworks supporting data governance and syncing methodologies eliminating silos.

Serve as a change agent to build site‑level accountability and support data quality initiatives.

Education

Bachelor’s degree with 9+ years’ experience.

OR Master’s degree with 7+ years’ experience.

Travel Requirements

10% domestic and international travel.

International travel to sites in Asia and Europe, such as Bangalore, India or Marseille, France with off‑site direct report teams residing in Bangalore.

Preferred Qualifications

Certified Data Management Professional (CDMP), preferred.

Proven experience in Master Data Management, preferably in a global or multi‑site capacity with strong understanding of enterprise systems and data frameworks (Oracle, PLM tools, etc.) and the use of deploying / sustaining standard work.

Experience selecting and deploying MDM tools for data cleansing and insight generation through excellent communication, stakeholder engagement, and workshop facilitation skills. Openness to the use of Artificial Intelligence (AI) and other MDM efficiency tools to improve data collaboration.
