Manager, Master Data Management
to develop and deploy a comprehensive Master Data Management (MDM) strategy across Life Sciences sites. The role combines strategic (~25%) and tactical (~75%) responsibilities, collaborating with Planning, Engineering, Procurement, IT, Quality, Finance, and Marketing teams to standardize practices, enable trusted data, and foster continuous improvement.
The position reports to the Global Director, Materials & Planning and is based in Indianapolis, Indiana. It requires on‑site presence.
Team Leadership
Proactively lead an off‑shore team of six (6) contributors and one (1) U.S. associate, managing performance objectives, daily guidance, key performance indicators (KPIs), stakeholder collaboration, and associate development plans.
Strategic Leadership
>Develop and scale a unified MDM strategy tailored to operational needs across Life Sciences sites; lead data assessments to identify appropriate MDM tools. Facilitate a cross‑functional Global MDM Council for Life Sciences, meeting quarterly or monthly as needed, partnering with IT, Procurement, Engineering, Planning, Finance, and Quality teams to align data governance efforts.
Review global data domains (e.g., Finance, Planning, Procurement) and develop assigned ownership and stewardship.
Operational & Tactical Execution
Assess current‑state data across systems and outline forward‑looking data management approaches, including MDM strategy implementation and tool adoption.
Collaborate with domain owners to develop audit and reporting frameworks supporting data governance and syncing methodologies, eliminating silos and supporting site‑level accountability.
Education
Bachelor’s degree with 9+ years’ experience OR Master’s degree with 7+ years’ experience.
Travel Requirements
10% travel within the U.S. and internationally.
International travel to sites in Asia and Europe, such as Bangalore, India, or Marseille, France.
Preferred Qualifications
Certified Data Management Professional (CDMP) – preferred.
Proven experience in Master Data Management, preferably in a global or multi‑site capacity with strong understanding of enterprise systems and data frameworks (Oracle, PLM tools, etc.) and deploying standard work.
Experience selecting and deploying MDM tools for data cleansing and insight generation, with excellent communication, stakeholder engagement, and workshop facilitation skills. Openness to use of Artificial Intelligence (AI) and other MDM efficiency tools.
