Hoplite Group is seeking a Website Designer to support contracted services for the U.S. Central Command (CENTCOM) Public Affairs Directorate (CCPA). The role involves maintaining and managing the CENTCOM public‑facing website, ensuring it remains functional, accurate, secure, and aligned with organizational goals.
Bottom Line Up Front Location: Primary – CENTCOM HQ, MacDill AFB; other anticipated work locations include TBD travel locations within CONUS, or at locations within the CENTCOM AOR. The position may require travel to CENTCOM exercises in CONUS and OCONUS, including Israel, Saudi Arabia, Kazakhstan, Jordan, Kuwait, Oman, Pakistan, Egypt, Bahrain, United Arab Emirates, Lebanon, and Israel.

Availability Anticipate Spring‑Summer 2026 start date.
Objective Execute the following responsibilities in support of the CENTCOM Public Affairs Directorate:
Maintain the CENTCOM public‑facing website (www.centcom.mil), ensuring functionality, accuracy, and accessibility.
Post and update website content, create new pages, and develop CMS templates to support mission requirements.
Utilize advanced knowledge of JavaScript, HTML5/CSS3, and content management systems (CMS) to design and manage web content effectively.
Create detailed design mockups for new website projects, including layout, color schemes, typography, and overall visual style for leadership review.
Ensure fully responsive design across desktop, tablet, and mobile devices to provide a seamless user experience.
Design and implement user‑friendly UI elements, such as navigation menus, buttons, forms, and interactive features, to enhance functionality and usability.
Develop logical content layouts and structures to ensure information is organized, accessible, and easy to navigate.
Align website design with CENTCOM’s brand guidelines, incorporating logos, color palettes, and other branding elements consistently throughout the site.
Implement best practices in UX design to optimize user satisfaction, clear navigation paths, and efficient information retrieval.
Test and verify cross‑browser compatibility to ensure consistent performance across Chrome, Firefox, Safari, Edge, and other browsers.
Troubleshoot, maintain, and support the CENTCOM website as required, ensuring reliability and security.
Support emergent 24/7 surge requirements outside of normal working hours during crises or unforeseen events, as directed by CCPA leadership.
General Tasks Applicable to All Personnel Supporting the CCPA
Information Gathering: search and collect data from diverse sources, including online platforms, databases, publications, and reports.
Analysis: analyze the collected information to identify trends, patterns, and insights.
Assessment of Credibility: evaluate the credibility and reliability of the information gathered to ensure accurate and trustworthy data is used for decision‑making.
Reporting: prepare reports, summaries, or presentations based on analysis to communicate findings to relevant stakeholders within the organization.
Monitoring and Alerting: continuously monitor sources for new information relevant to the organization and set up alerts or notifications to ensure timely awareness of important developments.
Risk Assessment: assess potential risks and opportunities based on the information gathered, helping the organization to make informed decisions and mitigate potential threats.
Collaboration: collaborate with other Specialists or departments within the organization to share insights and coordinate responses to emerging issues.
Tool and Technology Utilization: stay updated on tools and technologies used for information gathering and analysis, such as data mining software, social media monitoring tools, and analytical platforms.
Stakeholder Engagement: engage with external stakeholders to exchange information, collaborate on analysis efforts, and build partnerships for mutual benefit.
Legal and Ethical Compliance: ensure compliance with legal and ethical standards governing the collection and use of publicly and commercially available information, including privacy laws and intellectual property rights.
Training and Development: provide training to colleagues on effective methods for gathering and analyzing publicly and commercially available information or contribute to the development of best practices within the organization.
Crisis Response: during crisis situations or emergencies, provide real‑time updates and analysis to support decision‑making and response efforts.
Quality Assurance: ensure the accuracy, relevance, and reliability of the information analyzed, employing rigorous quality assurance processes to maintain high standards of data integrity.
Strategic Planning: participate in strategic planning processes by providing insights and recommendations based on the analysis of publicly and commercially available information, helping to shape the organization's goals and priorities.
Required Qualifications
Proven experience maintaining and designing large, public‑facing websites for government, military, or enterprise‑level organizations.
Advanced proficiency in JavaScript, HTML5, and CSS3, with the ability to build and maintain responsive and user‑friendly designs.
Hands‑on experience with content management systems (CMS), including creating templates, managing content, and troubleshooting issues.
Strong understanding of UI/UX principles, with demonstrated ability to design intuitive navigation, interactive features, and optimized user flows.
Experience developing detailed website design mockups and translating them into functional, branded web pages.
Knowledge of responsive design best practices to ensure seamless user experiences across desktop, tablet, and mobile platforms.
Ability to implement and maintain branding standards consistently across web properties.
Experience testing and ensuring cross‑browser compatibility (Chrome, Firefox, Safari, Edge, etc.).
Familiarity with accessibility standards and best practices (Section 508 compliance preferred).
Strong problem‑solving skills and ability to troubleshoot and resolve technical issues promptly.
Excellent organizational and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with leadership and technical teams.
Flexibility to support 24/7 surge operations during crises or unforeseen events, as required by CCPA leadership.
Certifications, Training, and Education
Top Secret/Secure Classified Information (TS/SCI) Security Clearance Required.
Bachelor’s degree in Web Design, Computer Science, Information Technology, Graphic Design, or a related field (or equivalent professional experience).
