Youth Basketball Site Coordinator oversees basketball program at their designated site (Boys & Girls Club, Champlain Elementary School or Hunt Middle School). Prior experience in a leadership position and working with children in athletics camp/program and/or league setting is desirable. Union Affiliation: Non-Union Pay Grade: $20.15-$20.75 Hourly Remote Tier 1: Zero (0) days remote/week Essential Job Functions
Follow all departmental rules and regulations. Oversee Fun Day, Saturday practices leading up to the season and youth league games. Assist Athletics Program Manager in supervising volunteer coaches and officiate and do scorekeeping as needed. Check area for safety hazards and report deficiencies to supervisor. Report all accidents/incidents occurring within jurisdiction to supervisor. Administer proper First Aid as required. Required to be on site 30 minutes before the program starts for set up/preparation and to ensure that the playing area is safe and ready for use (e.g. chairs, tables, sweeping floor, portable baskets). Required to tear down and clean up at the conclusion of program. Maintain a safe and clean environment. Attend staff meetings and staff trainings as required. Communicate with participants, volunteers, referees, and other staff in a professional manner. Other duties as assigned. Qualifications/Basic Job Requirements

Previous experience working with children in a group or individualized situation preferred. High school Diploma or equivalent required. College course work in Education, childhood development, family studies, or recreation preferred. Ability to supervise and organize groups of children for activity programs. Knowledge of sport specific rules and regulations. A cooperative attitude and a team player. Must have a desire to work with children and demonstrate enthusiasm, dependability, and good communication skills. Must be able to effectively enforce rules and code of conduct. Ability to work independently under general supervision. Ability to work weekends as required. Hold or obtain current CPR/AED and First Aid certification upon hiring. Additional Information
