Key Responsibilities
Develop, write, and debug CMM inspection programs from 3D models and blueprints.
Interpret engineering drawings, GD&T, and specifications to create accurate measurement routines.
Perform dimensional inspections on manufactured parts using CMMs and analyze measurement data.
Troubleshoot CMM program errors, equipment malfunctions, and measurement discrepancies.
Collaborate with engineering and manufacturing to resolve part quality and measurement issues.
Select and design appropriate fixturing for CMM inspection setups.
Recommended Qualifications
Proficiency in CMM programming software (e.g., PC-DMIS, Calypso, MCOSMOS).
Strong understanding and practical application of GD&T principles.
Ability to interpret complex engineering blueprints, schematics, and 3D CAD models.
Experience with CMM setup, operation, and troubleshooting.
Knowledge of metrology concepts, measurement techniques, and quality control standards.
Bonus Qualifications
GD&T Certification (e.g., ASQ GDTP)
Proficiency with multiple CMM software platforms (e.g., PC-DMIS, Calypso, MCOSMOS)
Experience with 3D CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, CATIA, Creo) for model interpretation or fixture design
Knowledge of Statistical Process Control (SPC) principles or Quality Management Systems (QMS)
