Adjunct Faculty, Early Childhood Education Colorado Mountain College seeks adjunct faculty to assist students in their learning process using staff resources, materials, facilities, and educational technologies. Faculty are committed to facilitating learning throughout communities and may engage in scholarly and service activities beyond teaching.

Job Description The adjunct faculty members create dynamic classroom experiences and support students throughout the college’s associate and bachelor’s degree programs. They use technology and instructional strategies to enhance positive classroom experiences and student outcomes.

Pre-requisites for Position (Qualifications Standards) Qualified candidates must:

Be credentialed to teach in the specific program or be eligible to be credentialed.

Hold a master’s degree in the specific field or a master’s degree with at least 18 graduate credits in a related field. Minimum of one‑year full‑time teaching experience, or equivalent as an adjunct instructor; higher‑education teaching experience preferred.

Possess a strong background in pedagogy, classroom technology, computer skills, organization, and interpersonal communication.

Demonstrate the ability to research, analyze data, and work independently toward established goals and deadlines.

Minimum Qualifications Applicant must be a resident of Colorado and authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship. The position is not eligible for visa sponsorship.

Bilingual (English/Spanish) or Conversational Language Abilities Preferred but not required.

Essential Duties / Responsibilities

Teach assigned courses and develop lesson plans, outlines, and syllabi in accordance with approved objectives.

Assist with development of measurable course objectives and curricula.

Maintain accurate course records and complete required forms.

Provide student consultation and office hours.

Assist in student recruitment and advising activities.

Participate in curriculum evaluation, assessment activities, and program review.

Represent the college professionally in the community, promoting a positive public image.

Engage in professional development as required for credentialing.

Supervision of the Position The role reports to the Assistant Dean of Instruction or a designee. Supervisors may be responsible for supervising student employees.

Supervisory Responsibility Successful completion of a background check and motor‑vehicle records report, when applicable. All duties must comply with safety and compliance policies. Travel and evening/weekend hours may be required.

Working Conditions The position requires constant sitting, occasional walking, standing, and driving; physical tasks include pushing/pulling, lifting up to 50 lbs, and frequent reaching with hands/arms. Work is performed with a computer and standard office equipment, with occasional vehicle use.
