Key Responsibilities
Perform calibration of measurement tools and equipment according to established procedures.
Conduct precise dimensional inspections of manufactured parts using various metrology instruments.
Operate and program Coordinate Measuring Machines (CMMs) and other advanced measurement systems.
Maintain accurate records and documentation for all calibration, measurement, and equipment activities.
Troubleshoot and resolve measurement discrepancies or equipment malfunctions.
Provide technical support and expertise on measurement techniques to production and engineering teams.
Ensure all metrology activities comply with quality standards, specifications, and procedures.
Recommended Qualifications
Ability to operate, program, and calibrate a variety of metrology equipment, including CMMs, vision systems, and precision hand tools.
Proficient in interpreting engineering drawings, blueprints, and applying Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) principles.
Strong understanding of measurement uncertainty, calibration processes, and metrology best practices.
Experience with data collection, analysis, and reporting using metrology software and statistical process control (SPC) tools.
Associate's degree or technical certification in Metrology, Quality Assurance, or a related engineering discipline, or equivalent practical experience.
Bonus Qualifications
Experience with statistical process control (SPC) software and methodologies.
Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD) for model-based inspection programming or fixture design.
Familiarity with programming languages (e.g., Python, VBA) for automation of measurement routines or data analysis.
ASQ Certified Quality Technician (CQT) or Certified Calibration Technician (CCT) certification.
Experience with advanced metrology techniques such as laser scanning or photogrammetry.
