The Project Coordinator – Scientific supports the Biologics Science and Technology (Bio S&T) organization by partnering closely with the Chief of Staff to execute strategic initiatives, manage daily operations, and facilitate effective communication across the organization. Bio S&T provides scientific and technical support for commercial and pipeline products across Merck’s Global Biologics Organization. This role combines project coordination, operational support, and internal communications, requiring strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work collaboratively in a fast‑paced, matrixed environment.
Responsibilities
Assist in tracking and managing key projects and initiatives across multiple functional areas
Monitor project timelines, milestones, and deliverables to ensure alignment with strategic priorities
Compile and prepare reports on project status, risks, and resource needs for the Chief of Staff
Coordinate meetings, events, and logistics at the direction of the Chief of Staff, including people and culture initiatives across Bio S&T
Lead the creation and distribution of internal communications such as newsletters, organizational updates, and leadership communications
Monitor internal communication channels and gather feedback to inform and improve communication strategies
Provide tactical support for priority initiatives, including execution and follow‑up activities
Support special projects and ad hoc initiatives as required
Build and maintain strong working relationships with leadership and key stakeholders across the organization
Education
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, a relevant scientific discipline, or a related field
Experience
2–5 years of experience in scientific, technical, operational, or project coordination roles
Experience supporting senior leadership or cross‑functional teams preferred
Skills
Strong organizational and multitasking skills
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
High attention to detail with the ability to deliver high‑quality work under tight deadlines
Software Advanced proficiency in Office 365 (Microsoft Teams, Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Copilot)
