Position Description
Responsible for direct supervision of assigned employees and acts as a site supervisor on nights and weekends. Coordinates daily tasks with Terminal Leadership and Nucor while supporting the Terminal Manager in establishing and meeting goals and objectives for the terminal.
Review and enforce policies and procedures; institute and evaluate employee training.
Monitor and provide feedback on employee performance, attendance, punctuality, and general compliance.
Assist in ensuring adequate and competent staffing of the facility.
Review all reports to ensure proper equipment maintenance and work efficiency.
Coordinate with crews on the receiving, unloading, and loading of barges.
Assist in coordinating the switching of all railcars.
Ensure that employees maintain a clean and safe work environment.
Coordinate barge and railcar schedules with customers.
Review and distribute barge nominations and schedule specific inventories for loading/unloading.
Review, edit, update and finalize all barge paperwork upon completion.
Organize and execute site procurement.
Work with production crew as necessary to relieve employees or increase production.
Organize and maintain technical data relating to facility operations and maintenance.
Other duties as assigned.
Education
High School Diploma or GED.
Experience / Specific Knowledge
Basic knowledge of heavy equipment and conveyor systems operations.
Basic knowledge of rail unloading.
Basic mechanical knowledge and skills, and knowledge of 3-phase electrical control, distribution and motors.
Knowledge of bulk material storage and transportation, including rail and water movements of bulk material products.
Certification, Licenses, and Registrations
Must pass and complete safety training/certification as required by customers and Kinder Morgan.
Must have a satisfactory driving record and a current, valid State driver's license.
Competencies, Skills, and Abilities
Work effectively with a team, take direction, maintain required schedules, focus on details, follow work rules, and work cooperatively with others.
Handle multiple priorities simultaneously.
Successful completion of background check and post-Offer and random drug screens.
Work Demands
Regular work attendance required.
Willingness to work overtime hours during the week and/or weekends as dictated by operations.
Ability to work swing shift 4 days on 4 days off 12-hour shift rotating days and nights.
Supervisory Responsibility
Demonstrate ability to supervise others, lead by example, and manage projects.
