Operations Supervisor - Terminal

Position Description
The Operations Supervisor provides direct supervision to assigned employees and performs as a site supervisor. Coordinates daily tasks with Terminal Leadership and Nucor. Supports the Operations Manager in establishing and meeting goals and objectives for the terminal.
Reviews and enforces policies and procedures, institutes and evaluates employee training
Monitors and provides feedback about employee performance, attendance, punctuality and general compliance with requirements
Assists in providing adequate and competent staffing of the facility, supervises, prioritizes and plans daily work assignments to achieve terminal goals
Reviews all reports to ensure proper equipment maintenance and work efficiency
Participates in the performance management process, including feedback, recognition and disciplinary action as appropriate
Participates in investigating incidents, accidents, "near-misses," etc.
Coordinates with crews on the receiving, unloading, and loading of railcars
Assist in coordinating the switching of all railcars
Promotes and ensures employees maintain a clean and safe work environment
Organizes and executes site procurement
Works with production crew as necessary to relieve employees or increase production
Organizes and maintains technical data relating to facility operations and maintenance
Other duties as assigned
Position job title and level will be assigned depending on the qualifications, skill sets and experience of the successful candidate.
Position Requirements Education
High School Diploma or GED
Experience / Specific Knowledge
Should have basic knowledge of heavy equipment and railcar operations
Basic knowledge of rail unloading required
Should have basic mechanical knowledge and skills
Must be able to demonstrate knowledge of bulk material storage and transportation. This includes rail and over the road truck movements of bulk material products
Certification, Licenses, And Registrations
Must pass and complete safety training/certification as required by customers to work in their facilities, and as required by Kinder Morgan
A satisfactory driving record as determined by the Company and a current, valid State driver's license are required.
Competencies, Skills, And Abilities
Must be able to work with a team, take direction, keep required work schedules, focus attention on details, follow work rules and work cooperatively with other people
Must have the ability to handle multiple priorities simultaneously
Successful completion of background check and post offer and random drug screens
Work Demands
Regular work attendance is required
Must be willing to work overtime hours during the week and/or weekends as dictated by operations
Supervisory Responsibility
Must be able to demonstrate the ability to supervise others, lead by example, and manage projects
