SHOE/SECTION LEADER
Manage all aspects of the Shoe department, including Profit & Loss responsibilities, seasonal sets, on‑hand price integrity, and maintaining a clean, organized, and fully stocked department. Demonstrate the Company’s core values of respect, honesty, integrity, diversity, inclusion, and safety.
Responsibilities
Model “Customer 1st” behavior; deliver and encourage excellent customer service.
Coordinate and organize merchandising of the section.
Receive and process freight; validate inventory control functions.
Verify ads and promotions are set to standard; plan ads/store events.
Process mismates, empty–shop, and inventory card balances.
Maintain compliance with all merchandising standards, safety guidelines, and company policies.
Maintain sales performance through monitoring of overstock/understock conditions.
Assist associates with break room and training area management.
Perform cashier functions and scan audits.
Maintain department condition and perform necessary maintenance/repair, salvage procedures, and intersection transfers.
Minimum Requirements
High school diploma or GED and minimum six months Fred Meyer experience plus one‑two years retail experience (or equivalent education/experience).
Minimum 18 years of age.
Pass a drug test.
Work fast‑paced, weekend/night shifts, overtime, and any scheduled shift.
Maintain confidentiality, accuracy, and attention to detail.
Organize and prioritize tasks and projects.
Familiarity with industry/technical terms and processes.
Desired Qualifications
Knowledge of company policies, procedures, and organizational structure.
Operate special equipment such as Symbol, Enterprise Signs and Tags Printing (ESTP), and Shelf Price Audit (SPA) unit.
Second language proficiency.
Experience with Replenishment Management System (RMS) functions and Freight receiving/stocking standards.
