Key Responsibilities
Perform calibration, verification, and preventative maintenance of measurement equipment and gages.
Operate and program Coordinate Measuring Machines (CMMs) and other advanced metrology instruments.
Analyze measurement data, identify deviations, and generate detailed inspection reports.
Troubleshoot and repair measurement instruments, fixtures, and systems.
Interpret complex engineering drawings, specifications, and GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing).
Develop, document, and maintain calibration procedures and work instructions.
Provide technical support to production and quality teams on measurement techniques and equipment usage.
Recommended Qualifications
Proficiency in operating and programming Coordinate Measuring Machines (CMMs) and other precision measurement equipment (e.g., calipers, micrometers, optical comparators).
Strong understanding and practical application of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) principles.
Ability to read, interpret, and work from complex engineering blueprints, schematics, and specifications.
Experience with calibration procedures, measurement uncertainty, and maintaining traceability of measurement standards.
Familiarity with metrology software packages (e.g., PC-DMIS, Calypso) and data analysis tools.
Associate's degree in Metrology, Engineering Technology, or a related technical field, or equivalent work experience.
Bonus Qualifications
Experience with non-contact measurement systems (e.g., laser scanning, vision systems, structured light).
Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD, CATIA) for model-based inspection or CMM programming.
Familiarity with Statistical Process Control (SPC) principles and software applications in a manufacturing context.
ASQ Certified Calibration Technician (CCT) or other relevant metrology certification.
