Responsibilities

Requires extensive knowledge of Correctional industries’ policies and procedures and management in order to manage multi shop Correctional industry program

Responsible for fiscal duties performed at the shop level (e.g., budgets and monitors expenditures for supplies, services, equipment and raw materials)

Supervises, plans, directs and coordinates all staff assignments

Acts as liaison between other departments and agencies

Serve as a liaison to Ohio Department of Public Safety

Monitors products to ensure timely deliveries

Monitors production and makes adjustments through production methods, equipment, and procedures. Coordinates activities with institution staff, Deputy Wardens and OPI staff; informs Wardens, Deputy Warden of industry operations, new products and new programs

Participate in inventory and cost control

Reviews purchase orders, Material Re-source Planning (MRP) system policies and procedures, equipment requests and costs and pricing data

Inputs data on MRP system to ensure adherence to schedules

Prepares scheduled and requested reports as directed

Projects production rates, new and replacement equipment needs and needed capital outlays

Maintains records and compliances, certifications, audits and other applicable documents

Assists in quality assurance, inventory and cost control

Monitors safety and training programs

Attend meetings, training and conferences

May give presentations and conduct training

Qualifications 4 yrs. trg. or 4 yrs. exp. in business, manufacturing, retailing; 2 yrs. exp. in supervisory, managerial or administrative capacity; 2 yrs. exp. in inventory & production quality control; 6 mos. exp. in fiscal control activities.
