We are looking for an enthusiastic, motivated and experienced individual to join our administrative team as a IR co-ordinator for IR radiology. This is a dedicated diagnostic radiology service which provides a variety of complex IR radiology procedures within CT / Xray and US modalities . The successful candidate should be a highly motivated individual with good communication skills Punctual, presentable and courteous at all times and be able to remain calm under pressure.
They should be flexible to work a min of 3 days between the hours of 9-5pm Monday - Friday . Whilst primarily based in Chelsea , post holders will be required to rotate to our Sutton and Cav Square site as required .
Main duties of the job
The post holder will work in an organised methodical with attention to detail manner maintaining an organized desk area as a main point of contact for bookings and admission enquiries. This involves interaction with consultants who work across trusts and may not be on site.
The post holder will work as an integral part of the Interventional Radiology (IR) and CT interventional team. The individual will be responsible for coordinating the booking and admission of all Interventional Radiology and Interventional CT scanning cases.
The role will ensure that all inpatient, day patient and outpatient interventional procedures are justified by the appropriate Radiologist or IR Superintendent Radiographer.
The post-holder will ensure that all Interventional Radiology and Interventional CT scan activity is appropriately recorded on the radiology information system (RIS) and in the case of private patients will liaise with private patients’ accounts for billing

To ensure proactive co-ordination of all Interventional Radiology clinics.
To ensure all referrals are forwarded to the relevant consultant immediately on receipt and then booked appropriately according to quality standards e.g. research trial time schedules, breech dates and patient treatment schedules.
To liaise with the Consultant Radiologists to ensure that referrals are booked in the appropriate imaging modality.
To ensure all new patients have referral letters and that any cancellations are re- booked to avoid loss of valuable slots.
To liaise with GPs regarding pre procedure tests.
To notify and liaise proactively with the IR Superintendent where there are capacity problems.
To be responsible for booking appointments relating to IR, ensuring that any DNAs are logged on the RIS, re-booked or changed when requested following RMH and national guidelines.
To establish and maintain effective communication with clinicians and other members of the MDT to support the smooth running of the Interventional Radiology clinics.
To liaise with IR Superintendent, IR consultants, Radiology Nursing Sister, Medical Secretaries and Radiology Service Manager in relation to changing diagnostic clinic templates, clinic cancellations and reductions, ensuring patient appointments are re-booked within a reasonable time frame.
To monitor any overbooking of Interventional Radiology sessions and where necessary liaise with medical and nursing staff to manage, referring to the IR Superintendent where there are ongoing concerns.
