Analytical Science Clinical Biochemistry Scientist Group Leader
Pay: $28.00/hr - $33.00/hr (based on skills and experience).
Location: Rensselaer County, NY.
Position: Full Time, Monday-Friday, First Shift (8 am-4 pm).

Job Description Lead a clinical biochemistry research group, performing and overseeing benchtop testing of large molecules (ELISA, MCE, ICIEF), managing laboratory supplies, maintaining documentation, analyzing raw data, and ensuring compliance with GDP and safety regulations.
Laboratory Responsibilities
Perform benchtop testing of large molecules using ELISA, MCE, and ICIEF assays.
Maintain laboratory supplies, media, and reagents inventory.
Adhere to good documentation practices (GDP) for all paper and electronic documentation.
Collect and process raw data from assays.
Use LIMS for sample management and documentation of test results.
Perform peer review of procedural execution and processed data.
Collaborate with data reviewers and authorizers for corrections or retesting.
Record activities in logbooks, laboratory notebooks, and electronic systems.
Conduct safety and compliance walkthroughs and document observations.
Complete all safety and procedural trainings and re‑training.
Leadership Responsibilities
Personnel management and development.
Manage and coordinate the team’s workload.
Oversee cross‑training and team capacity.
Monitor and report productivity and quality metrics.
Communicate proactively with client and customer teams.
Conduct routine laboratory safety walkthroughs and compliance checks.
Participate in hiring, onboarding, and training of new hires.
Deliver training for new hires and other department employees.
Assist with overtime and weekend scheduling as required.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Biochemistry, Life Sciences, Engineering, or related field, or equivalent experience.
Minimum 2 years of cGMP experience.
Minimum 2 years of leadership experience.
Experience with immunoassays and electrophoresis.
Experience processing quantitative data.
Experience using an electronic sample and data management system (LIMS).
Strong computer, scientific, and organizational skills.
Excellent communication (oral and written) and attention to detail.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team, self‑motivated, adaptable, positive attitude.
Ability to learn new techniques, perform multiple tasks simultaneously, keep accurate records, follow instructions, comply with company policies.
Authorization to work in the U.S. indefinitely without restriction or sponsorship.
