Intake Registered Nurse - NOC 7P-730A

To assess the needs of prospective patients and phone callers and ensure their referral to the service or resource to best address those needs.
Requirements
ADN required; BSN or related field preferred.
Registered Nurse position – Full‑time 12‑hour shifts.
Must have weekend availability on a rotating basis or a regular schedule.
Must hold a current CA RN license.
Pre‑employment background check and post‑offer drug screen & physical required.
Salary: $45.00 – $55.00 per hour.

Responsibilities
Complete intake assessments for patients arriving at the hospital.
Review admission referrals and collaborate with local referral partners.
Work in a call center and triage crisis calls.
Perform intake of vitals and coordinate patient admissions.
Work independently while maintaining confidentiality and meeting deadlines.
Minimum Work Experience Familiarity with clinical terminology and the continuum of care; assessment and intervention skills; persuasive manner and skill in overcoming denial and resistance to treatment; ability to focus on tasks in high‑traffic areas; knowledge of DSM‑III‑R diagnostic criteria for crisis and potentially combative patients while maintaining personal and emotional equilibrium and empathetically relating to people; basic data entry and computer skills; proficiency in time‑management, organizational skills, communication and customer service; knowledge of patient rights and mental‑health laws; basic personnel management or supervisory skills helpful.
Required License Current RN preferred.
