Maintenance Technician Lead - Roanoke, VA
Location: Roanoke, VA
Hourly rate:
$30.80
per hour, core hours 7:00 am – 3:30 pm.

Eaton’s ES GEIS CHD division is currently seeking a Maintenance Technician Lead. The hourly rate, core hours and salary guidelines apply only to a qualified candidate with the necessary skills and experience.
What You’ll Do
Oversee maintenance operations to ensure equipment, facilities, and systems function efficiently and safely.
Lead and motivate maintenance technicians, assign tasks, and monitor performance.
Provide training and mentorship on troubleshooting and safety protocols.
Perform and oversee preventive and reactive maintenance on production equipment and facility systems.
Troubleshoot and repair electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems, including PLCs, VFDs, and control panels.
Develop and implement preventive maintenance schedules.
Coordinate work orders and ensure timely completion of maintenance tasks.
Enforce adherence to OSHA, LOTO and MESH company safety standards.
Conduct safety meetings and maintain accurate maintenance records.
Identify opportunities to improve equipment reliability and reduce downtime.
Participate in root cause analysis and implement corrective actions.
Perform other related duties as assigned.

Minimum Education Required High School Diploma or GED from an accredited institution.
Qualifications Basic (Required) Qualifications:
A minimum of ten (10) years of experience in a maintenance role.
A minimum of 3 years of leadership experience.
No relocation benefit is offered; candidates must reside within 50 miles of Roanoke, VA.

Preferred Qualifications:
Technical certification or associate degree preferred.
HVAC training and/or certification.
Certification in electrical, mechanical, or related field from an accredited college or vocational school.
Associate’s degree or certification in Industrial Maintenance from an accredited college or vocational school.
Lean/ Six Sigma experience.
Position Criteria
Ability to create and execute work order planning.
Strong knowledge of electrical, mechanical, and control systems (PLC, hydraulics, pneumatics).
Familiarity with TPM, RCM, and lean manufacturing principles.
Excellent organizational, communication, and problem‑solving skills.
Capable of fulfilling responsibilities with minimal oversight.
Open to operating powered lifting and transport equipment such as scissor lifts and forklifts.
Able to climb ladders and stairs, and lift items weighing up to 45 pounds.
Comfortable standing, walking, bending, reaching, and pulling frequently and for extended durations.
Basic computer literacy and use of hand tools and maintenance shop equipment.
Highly ethical, self‑motivated, and effective working within cross‑functional teams.
Willing to work extended hours or weekends when required.
