Our client is seeking a Quality Manager to join their company, a long‑standing industry leader in the manufacturing and distribution of high‑performance fabric solutions. In this role, you will lead the Quality Management System (QMS) for their Dalton facility, ensuring all products meet the rigorous standards required by global manufacturing partners. You will have full authority to manage production quality, lead a team of technicians, and serve as the primary interface for customer and third‑party audits. This is a vital position for a technical professional who values “legacy‑minded” documentation and a culture of continuous improvement.
Responsibilities
Lead and develop the Quality Technician team while fostering a culture of accountability and ownership.
Maintain the site’s QMS in full alignment with IATF 16949 standards and customer‑specific requirements.
Oversee all documentation control, including manuals, procedures, work instructions, and forms.
Perform and manage internal audits and process audits across all manufacturing operations.
Coordinate and host external assessments, including those from customers and third‑party agencies.
Evaluate supplier performance and compliance through vendor audits.
Act as the primary point of contact for customer complaints and quality‑related concerns.
Lead structured root cause analysis using 8D, 5‑Why, and other problem‑solving tools to drive corrective actions.
Implement and monitor Statistical Process Control systems to ensure process stability and capability.
Lead the preparation and submission of PPAP documentation, including FMEAs and Control Plans.
Maintain complete authority to halt production of any materials that do not meet internal or customer specifications.
Collaborate with the Technical Director to align local practices with corporate quality strategies.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Quality Management, Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
At least 5 years of experience in quality management within an automotive manufacturing environment.
Current certification as an IATF 16949 Lead Auditor and VDA 6.3 Process Auditor.
Thorough knowledge of ISO 9001 requirements and general manufacturing statistics.
Proven ability to interpret customer‑specific requirements and translate them into actionable shop‑floor instructions.
Strong leadership skills with experience mentoring technical teams and guiding fabrication staff.
Exceptional oral and written communication skills for interfacing with executive leadership and external clients.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and experience with data gathering and analysis.
Ability to work effectively in a multi‑faceted environment including office, warehouse, and manufacturing areas.
High level of initiative and the ability to troubleshoot technical issues from a strategic perspective.
